when waiting for an answer
a verdict, a diagnosis
or the condition of one you love.
Instead silence equips a mind
with room for fearful wonder
tipping scales of hope...I quickly digress
an angry pendulum swings in my head...
void of precious rhythm
Powerless in the fate of another
So certain I know what's best
Anger builds from within
Turning, twisting, finally wilting from exhaustion
Wrapped in tear-laden, blue papers of sadness
Yet, strength comes from beyond me
Faith.
Knowing the outcome lay not within my shaking hand
Praying for quiet and the sweet grace to understand
my thoughts, wrestle violently with simple peace
Turning away from the fear that grips me
to what is in front of me now
still certain there is a reason
although purpose remains blind to me this moment
I know...
Rains come within their season
Jan 2010
Leviticus 26:4
“I will send you rain in its season,
and the ground will yield its crops and the trees of the field their fruit.”
