~ Gravity ~ (A Poem) The starkness of Winter Blogo 48.8

The starkness of winter
Knocks at my door
The hungry chill in the air
Always wanting more

Thoughts accosted by darkness
Where purgatory awaits
Bundled and bridled tightly
By what lonely silence creates

Tearing myself from the vicious pull
To the light, to warmth, I hastily run
With each step, I defy gravity
And all it has maliciously undone.

  9. There are days during Winter where it feels like the world is ending...the lack of sunlight and color mutes everything down to a whisper and yet the cold screams so loud. But not giving in is the key...allowing the gray to only permeate to a certain depth. This was really good👍

  10. Sometimes the mood is dark. I get drawn in but that doesn't mean I'm in an ill mood. It just means that some dark moods and dark days are welcome in my world. Beautifully penned. I felt each pull. ((((huggs)))) Leta :)

    1. Thanks Leta. I've always used poetry to release the darkness in my life...my therapy of sorts. I am looking forward to expanding my writing beyond simply "the need". I love your writing and I feel your heart in all of it. I do love your heart immensely! <3
