Night Echoes
a Quiet Waiting
In silence,
she quietly waits
For that
moment her heart awakens
Inhaling a breath
of a telling forest breeze
Stilled,
years before, on some forgotten day
Hungry for boldness
that speaks to her soul
Beyond the
broken dreams of time once past
To feel the
caress of hope on a spirit withered
A gentle
smile cast upon a tattered heart
The night
echoes with a longing gaze
To the moon,
as she smiles within her knowing
Muted
notions provoked with enchantment
Roused by a mere
moment of chance encounter
Will she dance
the dream with eyes wide open
Or close
them and sway to some mystical tune
A waltzing
thought she relishes with ponder
In silence,
she quietly waits.
Oh first, I am so glad to see you writing again :D And I love this so much, your poetry always speaks to me (but you know that), kindred souls we are.
ReplyDeleteI think there's something about these chance encounters that at least deserve a first dance :)
I think you are right....dancing hasn't been on the list in awhile...Maybe it's my lead driving foot that gets in the way sometimes. ;-) I am so out of practice writing, but I guess we all have to step back in somewhere.
ReplyDeleteLovely and engaging words you have penned here DeAnna :) ~Christine W

ReplyDeleteMissed your writings - Hungry for boldness that speaks to her soul, hungry to live again
ReplyDeleteAaahh...good to see you reading me still. Yes, without that hunger...what is life (especially to a poet) :-)
DeleteI'm so so glad you've picked up your pen again! You are such a talented writer, and I've missed you.....
ReplyDeleteBeautiful piece... sometimes we need the time to heal, someday we are indeed ready to dance again. Love this! HUGS
Thank you Colleen - I hope my muse hangs around for a little while this time. Healing is good...dancing is certainly much more fun.
DeleteI always feel your words, and I'm glad to see you writing again.
